In a recent study 1,115 males 25 to 35 years of age were randomly chosen and asked about their exercise habits. Based on the study results, the researchers estimated the mean time that a male 25 to 35 years of age spends exercising with 90%, 95%, and 99% confidence intervals. In a recent study of 500 randomly selected statistics students, they were asked the number of hours per week they spend studying for their statistics classes. The results were used to estimate the mean time for all statistics students with 90%, 95% and 99% confidence intervals. These were (not necessarily in the same order):
(7.5, 8.5) (7.6, 8.4) (7.7, 8.3)
